Fill beside the mailer

Mailers wrap soft goods. Fill stops movement inside a carton.

When the mailer is the wrong tool

A grey mailing bag holds soft goods. It does not pack out an empty carton. Loose fill, paper void fill and Ecoflo peanuts, made from corn starch and described as biodegradable, are the lines for that gap.

Packaging Suppliers also lists recycled air pillows and recyclable paper void fill on the eco-friendly page. A closer box still uses less fill than a carton that is far too big.

Kraft is not fill

Kraft rolls are 88 gsm, ribbed and machine glazed, for wrapping a parcel. Kraft tape seals a carton. Neither is a volume of void fill.

If the closed carton rattles, the fill is missing. Bubble wrapped into a ball is a costly substitute.
