A lined bag, not a box
A padded envelope is for an item that can travel in a bag but needs a cushioned lining. Books, small parts, clothing with a hard detail, and flat goods often sit in this gap between a plain mailer and a carton. If the item must not bend at all, use a board-backed envelope or a box instead.
Papers and envelopes is the parent category. It holds Jiffy bags, board-back envelopes, plain and window envelopes, kraft paper, tissue and labels. The bubble envelopes are the lined ones.
Jiffy and Arofol
The bubble envelope category says we are authorised Jiffy distributors in the UK and stock the Jiffy Airkraft range. It also stocks Arofol economy bubble envelopes in gold and white. Those are two brands in one category, so check the brand on the product if you need to stay with Jiffy.
Jiffy green padded bags and Jiffy expandable padded bags are listed as their own categories beside the main bubble envelopes. Board-back envelopes and cardboard capacity envelopes are the rigid paper packs, for documents that must not crease.
Size and the carrier
A padded bag still has to fit the service you are using. For Royal Mail small parcels, the external maximum on our changes page is 450 x 350 x 160 mm. A bag that is over those dimensions is not a small parcel, even if it is soft. Large letter boxes are a different range again, for the flatter format.
Bubble pouches in the protection range are a different product: a bubble bag used as cushioning, not necessarily a postal envelope with a closure.
